At the Annual Town Council meeting held on Tuesday 10th May 2022, Councillor Cheryl Kirby was elected as Mayor and Chair of Yate Town Council with the position of Vice Chair and Deputy Town Mayor passed to Councillor Ben Nutland.

Councillor Kirby said:

“I would like to thank Councillor Karl Tomasin for his 3 years of service as Mayor and Chair of Yate Town Council, and I would also like to thank my fellow council members for their support and for their help during my time, so far, as a Yate Town Councillor. As Chair and Mayor of Yate Town Council, I now look forward to the future and to representing the residents of Yate, to support, encourage and promote their achievements within our community.”

Councillor Nutland said:

“I am delighted to be elected Deputy Mayor and Vice Chair of Yate Town Council. It’s an honour and a privilege to represent Yate and its residents. I’m looking forward to supporting Mayor Cheryl Kirby over the forthcoming year.”
