What another fabulous weekend we had in Kingsgate Park!
Yate Rocks! In the Park, hosted by Yate Town Council, took place on the 22nd and 23rd June 2024 in Kingsgate Park. The event proved, once again, to be a great success with large crowds gathering throughout the weekend.
On Saturday, local bands, artists and dance groups took to the stage and performance area to entertain the crowds.
Local bands and artists included Longshots, Rhiannon-Paige & Wild Roses, Limited Edition, Zoom Club (ex. Doc Roc), Liquor & Poker, Beacon Rise and The Layers. We also had dance performances from Yasmins, 5678 Dance, L.A Dance, Redds Dance & Drama and Streetcred Dance.
There were lots of different stalls and activities for attendees to enjoy. There was a climbing wall, fun fair games, food and drink stalls, t-cup rides and go-karts. Yate Town Council ran a free arts and crafts stall, with the Armadillo and URBIE Youth Bus also present at the festival.
On Sunday morning, Praise in the Park was well attended with everyone enjoying the warm weather.
On Sunday afternoon, The Great Choir Showcase once again was a big hit! The crowd was first treated to performances by two junior choirs: Raysfield School Choir and Fascinating Rhythm Junior Choir. Following this were four senior choirs made up of Bristol Show Choir, Frampton Cotterell Male Voice Choir, Fascinating Rhythm and Rock Choir! At the end of the event, the choirs all joined together with a grand finale of “Green Green Grass” – a perfect way to round off this year’s event.
We would like to say a massive thank you to all the businesses, charities, organisations, bands, artists, dance groups and everyone who came to Yate Rocks! this year. We hope you will join us again in 2025!
