£450,000 Secured for Major Refurbishment of Peg Hill Skate Park

Local skaters, scooters and BMX riders, are set to benefit from a major refurbishment of Peg Hill Skate Park thanks to a £450,000 funding boost secured by Yate Town Council.

As the skate park reaches a 25 year milestone, this refurbishment will transform the facility into a modern, inclusive, and accessible space for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy, ensuring it meets the needs of the growing skate and wheeled-sports community, for many years to come.

“Peg Hill is about more than just ramps and rails – it’s about creating a vibrant, safe, and positive space for young people and the wider community,” said Councillor John Ford, Chair of Yate Town Council’s Play Areas and Properties Steering Group. “We’re thrilled to see this investment become a reality.”

In the coming months the Town Council will tender for a partner to help them deliver this project, and community members will be invited to have their say during the design phase, to ensure the park reflects local needs and aspirations.
