Peg Hill Skate Park

Peg Hill Skate Park

Original Opening – 2001

On 11th August 2001, World No.2 Vert Riding Champion, British and European Vert Riding Champion and Yate resident Simon Tabron, officially opened the park along with Yate Town Mayor, Councillor Margaret Bracey.

The skate park project was inspired by determined young people of the town who campaigned for a skate park in collaboration with the Town Council, resulting in the Peg Hill Action Group. The action group worked closely with the Town Council and an architect on the design of the park and with the support of the community and local businesses, Peg Hill Skate Park was built.

Over 20 years later, Peg Hill is one of the most popular skate parks in the county with people travelling from all over the region to ride the bowl!

Refurbishment Project 2026

In August 2025, Yate Town Council announced that we had secured £450,000 to complete a major refurbishment of Peg Hill Skate Park!

As the skate park has reached its 25 year milestone, this refurbishment will transform the facility into a modern, inclusive and accessible space for all ages and abilities to enjoy, ensuring it meets the needs of the growing skate and wheeled-sports community for many years to come.

In January 2026, it was announced that Betongpark Limited had been appointed to deliver the brand-new, inclusive skate space in the spring/summer 2026.

As of the week commencing 6th July 2026, work has officially begun on the refurbishment project meaning that Peg Hill will be closed until late November.

Keep an eye on this webpage and our social media for more exciting updates about this refurbishment project!
