Yate Town Council announce refurbishment of Kingsgate Park Play Area will commence in Spring 2023

Yate Town Council is excited to announce fast and fantastic progress with the refurbishment of Kingsgate Park, which will commence in spring 2023.

Since November 2022, the Town Council has secured £325,000 of funding for this project, including £25,000 from Enovert Community Trust which will go towards the replacement of the zip wire and refurbishment of the multi-use games area. Thank you to Enovert for their generous investment in our community.

The first stage of the project will see the replacement of the zip wire and refurbishment of the much-loved timber tree top trail, followed by a complete redesign of the current area for the under 5s. New equipment will include important features that were requested by residents and users of Kingsgate Park, including:

  • sustainable materials;
  • equipment that supports accessibility, neurodiversity and socialisation;
  • designs that celebrate nature.

The Town Council has now appointed a supplier to design the new equipment area, and design ideas will be shared with the public very soon!

Councillor Cheryl Kirby, Chair of Yate Town Council, said:

This is such an exciting time and we are thrilled to be delivering this for the public.  We’ve received high quality, inclusive designs that reflect nature and the needs of the community; we can’t wait to see this project get underway very soon!
