Yate Town Council and McDonald’s Join Forces to Provide New Recycling and Litter Bins

Yate Town Council has teamed up with McDonald’s in Yate to provide two brand new recycling and litter bins.

The two bins, located on Station Road and St Mary’s Green, were supplied by McDonald’s and will be regularly emptied by Yate Town Council.

The bins each have two compartments, one for mixed recycling and the other for general waste and it is hoped they will be utilised fully. This is just one of many initiatives across the town implemented to encourage recycling and keeping our town clean and tidy.

Both Yate Town Council and McDonald’s have a commitment to encouraging the recycling of waste wherever possible. Mike Guerin, local McDonald’s Franchisee said ‘McDonald’s are delighted to sponsor two new recycling Bins for Yate Town Council. Within our restaurants, we have a comprehensive recycling program; it is great to see on street recycling in Yate helping to keep our town clean & green.’

Karl Tomasin, Mayor of Yate said ‘Many thanks to McDonald’s for working with the council to help keep our town free of litter. The donation of 2 new recycling bins aligns with our joint aspirations to encourage recycling and keep our town tidy. We encourage everyone to either use the bins provided or take your litter home.’
