Yate Outdoor Sports Complex – Multi-Activity Building and 6th Anniversary

January 2022 saw Yate Town Council hand over the keys to the new Multi Activity Building at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex (YOSC) to the Trustees of YOSC Limited for them to manage, along with the rest of the facilities at the YOSC complex.

November 2021 also saw the sixth anniversary of Yate Town Council taking control of YOSC from South Gloucestershire Council, who announced they were no longer in a position to continue to fund the site from 2015 onwards. At that time, Yate Town Council began talks with a local group of volunteers who then became YOSC Limited – the organisation that now operate and manage the site. Since then, the site has gone from strength to strength.

Councillor Chris Willmore (Chair of the Yate Town Council YOSC Project Steering Group) said; “The anniversary gave us all a chance to reflect on how far we have come in developing the site in line with a wider vision for the complex to represent a high quality, safe and inclusive venue in which a wide range of athletics and sports can take place”.

“We look forward to watching the progress of facilities over the next 6 years and beyond and we, of course, thank all the volunteers that have worked so hard to keep the venue open as well as Councillors and staff at Yate Town Council who have worked to obtain grants and funding to enable all these wonderful things to happen.”
