Mayor Attends opening of Great Western Air Ambulance Charity Shop

The Mayor of Yate was happy to join members of Great Western Air Ambulance Charity at the opening of their new Yate shop on Saturday 7th August 2021.

He learned about the work of the Air Ambulance Charity, speaking with Dr Rich Jeavons, Deputy Medical Director and a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Vicki Brown, Advanced Practitioner in Critical Care (the most clinically senior and advanced paramedic role available in the UK).

Chief Executive, Anna Perry thanked Councillor Tomasin for his support and confirmed:-

“The opening was a great success, with the shop taking £1,700 on the day, plus lots of cash donations of course. To put that in context, the average price of a GWAAC mission to a patient is £2,000, and we do five or six missions a day.”
