Community Support Assistant
Closing Date: Wednesday 15th May 2024, 12 noon
This role provides admin support to the Community Projects Team, who design and deliver a wide range of facilities, services and projects, to improve the lives of residents in Yate.
Community is at the heart of everything we do and we’re looking for a Support Assistant that shares our passion for people!
Venue Assistant – 12hrs per week
Closing Date: Wednesday 22nd May 2024, 12 noon
This role involves working with young people in our Armadillo Youth Cafe and Venue.
Experience of working in a hospitality or retail setting preferable but not a necessity, as full training will be given.
Estates Person – closing date (applications will be reviewed every two weeks from 12th April 2024)
A varied role working in our local community, ensuring Yate Town Council’s parks, play areas, community venues, open spaces and sports/recreation areas are maintained and ready for use.
Casual Venue Assistant
Looking to develop your career in hospitality, or in a role working with young people? We may have a casual role for you!
Casual hours weekday evenings and weekends.
£10.60 per hour (starting salary £20,441 per annum FTE – Hay Grade 13 SCP 2)
Volunteering Opportunities
Volunteering at the Pop Inn Café
The Pop Inn is a community café designed for users over 50. The café has had great success over the years and has seen many people drawn in by the light interior, the peaceful atmosphere and the friendly volunteer staff.
We currently have an opportunity to volunteer fortnightly at the Pop Inn Café on Fridays from 10:45am – 1:45pm

Volunteering at The Memory Café
Yate Town Council were delighted to launch our first Memory café in 2023, we we’re looking for volunteers just like you!
If you can spare a little time the first Friday of every month (1.30-3pm) at the Pop Inn Café, to lend a listening ear, make a few brews or join in with activities – you’ll make a big difference to those with dementia and their carers. Anyone can apply, no experience is needed and all training is provided.

Volunteering at Yate Heritage Centre
Yate Heritage Centre is a fully accredited museum which, as part of Yate Town Council, serves all out local communities. Yate Heritage Centre is a dynamic facility devoted to serving the local area. To sustain progress and remain effective, volunteers are always needed to take part in history projects and to help staff the building.
