Yate Town Council is excited to have added e-bikes to the Town Councils fleet of transport!
The Town Council has taken delivery of the e-bikes via a free Government trial scheme rolled out by South Gloucestershire Council – the bikes will give staff and councillors the option to use them whilst moving around the town without the need to hop in their cars for short journeys. The e-bikes are ridden exactly as a regular bike but with power assist making journeys quicker, easier and suitable for users of any ability. We also plan to bring the bikes along to our community events to showcase them.
Having the e-bikes to trial very much supports the Town Councils Climate and Planet declaration made in 2020 where we made a commitment to act in response to the climate and ecological crisis.
