Yate Town Council is delighted to announce that the refurbishment of Brinsham Park Play Area will take place in summer 2025.
The £136,000 investment by the Town Council will bring a fresh, exciting experience for local families and visitors.
The Town Council asked the public for their ideas which were then used in the design brief; residents asked for more play equipment suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities, inspired by the beautiful surrounding green park and nature conservation areas.
The chosen design increases accessibility and makes use of the entire play area, with connected paths and enhanced natural surfacing to support mobility and pushchair access. The refurbishment:
- will include new equipment that supports accessibility, neurodiversity and socialisation, that can be used by individuals with varying abilities and confidence levels;
- is based on an environmentally conscious design that uses sustainable materials, refurbishes existing equipment to reduce waste and celebrates nature and biodiversity improvements made in the adjoining nature reserve.
Councilor John Ford, Chair of the Town Council’s Play Areas and Properties Project Steering Group said:
“This project will create a fantastic facility in Brinsham Park, by making use of the existing and popular play equipment, alongside custom designed new play features, for children and young people of all ages and abilities to enjoy!”

The refurbishment is part of the Town Council’s ongoing commitment to improving local parks and green spaces, ensuring they remain vibrant and accessible for all residents.
